Restaurant Floor Manager

Stowe Bowl is in search of a Restaurant Floor Manager who can deliver an exceptional customer experience. The Restaurant Floor Manger plays an instrumental role to the overall success and profitability of this venue by providing oversight and leadership. They will work to coordinate all aspects of daily operations, including: employee supervision and training, equipment management, POS administration, maximizing sales, budget planning, party and group events, marketing and promoting brand, vendor relations, estimating stock needs and procuring proper inventory.

Responsibilities:

  • Hiring and on-going training of staff with the goal to motivate, increase productivity and enhance customer service skills.  Staffing duties also include employee recruitment/advertisement, interviewing prospective workers, appraisal/feedback, and preformance reviews.
  • Training and communicating restaurant policies and systems to the workers, scheduling shifts, and calling in workers when there is a gap in shift coverage. Floor managers may also assist the floor staff during peak dining hours.
  • Oversee proper License compliance and employee health and safety guidelines.
  • Creating an exceptional guest experience from the moment a customer walks in the door to the moment they walk out. Floor managers are physically present on the restaurant floor and in the kitchen to monitor the quality of the service and the food.
  • Promoting daily sales and revenue increases by developing and achieving targets.
  • Running and serving as key point person during events, group reservations and party buyouts.
  • Identifying Bowling lane maintenance issues and troubleshooting.
  • Conqueror Pro POS system setup, training and maintenance.
  • Serving as closing/opening shift manager and all corresponding duties.
  • Administrative duties for the facility, such as ordering inventory and supplies, tallying receipts, preparing deposits.

 Skills:

  • Experience in Bar Management desired.  Two Years Bartending experience required.

Server

Job Summary: Stowe Bowl is in search of a friendly, outgoing Server with superior customer service skills. The servers at Stowe Bowl work in a fun and dynamic environment. They serve food and drinks by the bowling lanes as wells as in the lounge and Stowe Bowl Eatery. Serving at Stowe Bowl is not just about dining but creating a complete experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepares room for dining by cleaning tables and setting condiments, napkins, service, plates, and utensils
  • Protects establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies
  • Helps customers select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting food; explaining the specials; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions
  • Assists with seating customers at lanes or tables as needed
  • Assists with distribution of bowling shoes and showing customers how to use the bowling system as needed
  • Transmits orders to bar and kitchen by recording customer's choices; identifying any special dietary needs and special requests
  • Process transactions using the POS system
  • Keeps kitchen staff informed by noting timing of meal progression
  • Serves orders by picking up and delivering picked food and drink from bar and kitchen; delivering accompaniments and condiments from service bars
  • Responds to additional patron requirements by inquiring of needs; observing dining process
  • Maintains table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to any spills or other special needs
  • Concludes dining experience by acknowledging choice of restaurant; inviting customer to return
  • Obtains revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; delivering bill and payment to host-person; returning change or credit card and signature slip to rightful owner
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Shuts down and cleans dining area after closing

Host(ess)

Job Summary:  Stowe Bowl is seeking a host/hostess for the front desk reception.  The host/hostess is "head pin", control center for the entire venue! You are responsible for assigning bowling lanes, distributing shoes, answering phone, directing guests, and monitoring activity on the lanes. The bowling host contributes to overall sales by effectively managing lanes turns, wait-list, and supporting the servers.

Responsibilities:

  • Extend a welcoming greeting to all guests providing friendly assistance regarding the bowling facility
  • Efficiently operate all functions of the bowling computer system
  • Ensure a quick and organized shoe rental experience
  • Graciously accommodate all scheduled parties and events
  • Effectively manage the Wait-list when the facility is full
  • Pleasantly answer phones and direct calls to the appropriate center
  • Proactively provide guest assistance
  • Communicate all guest concerns to management immediately
  • Extend a friendly farewell and invite all guests back to the venue       
  • Additional tasks as assigned by management throughout the venue

Bartender

Stowe Bowl is seeking an outgoing, energetic bartender with superior customer service skills. In addition to bar-tending the bartender will also serve on occasion to customers at the lanes and in the restaurant. The bartender will be trained on activating bowling lanes and helping customers on the lanes. 

 Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers and present beverage menus
  • Make recommendations and answer all related inquiries
  • Check identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age
  • Take orders from serving staff or directly from customers
  • Record drink orders accurately into register system
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes
  • Peel, slice and pit fruit for garnishing drinks.
  • Mix and garnish cocktails according to standard specs
  • Serve food to customers seated at the bar
  • Up sell drink and food items to customers
  • Respond promptly to requests from customers in a polite and professional fashion
  • Attempt to limit problems related to customers' excessive drinking by following established procedures
  • Process transactions using the POS system
  • Prepare checks for customers
  • Process customer payments
  • Arrange glasses and bottles into attractive and functional displays
  • Ensure clean glasses, bar equipment and working areas
  • Comply with all health, safety and hygiene standards and policies
  • Balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift
  • Monitor inventory and restock bar inventory as necessary
  • Activate bowling lanes for customers.
